Landscapes

Now for a couple in black and white. I’ve got just one more roll of film to develop from my trip. I’m only about halfway through posting my favourite images but on the whole, am v pleased. In fact, will go so far to say that I think this series (when it’s finalised) will be up there with my best. At least that’s how it feels right now when I look at it so hopefully it’s not just the novelty.

Food Inc.

A little outside Yellowstone National Park, saw a row of feeding cows that stretched as far as the eye could see. I’m vegetarian btw.

Old Faithful

Made the obligatory journey over to Old Faithful – the most famous geyser in Yellowstone… It jettisoned about 10 minutes behind schedule, although I was amazed that any kind of predictability is possible with geothermal phenomenons… Here’s a couple of shots from the 1 – 2 min event.

Back from Yellowstone

Got back from a 4 night trip to Yellowstone… was beautiful. My first time there and only my first (maybe second) trip purely dedicate to photography. Yellowstone was great… temperature ranged from 20f in the mornings to 45f by noon. Pretty cold but warmer than I expected and surprisingly, beautiful blue skies. Despite that, parts of the park were blanketed in several feet of snow. I shot film (all MF 6×7) exclusively. I’m neither a landscape nor a wildlife photographer, but enjoyed it immensely and tried to bring my own …

I’ve been hearing increasingly loud and frequent rumours that fuji is changing their film line up. those rumours seem true now. this shows the changes:

I think the net is that Neopan 100 Acros in 120 will only be available in packs of 5 and Neopan 400 is effectively discontinued. can’t seem to get a straight answer on whether it’ll be continued in other countries somehow. anyway, unpleasant news as this is my favourite BW.
I posted this originally over in lost in focus, looking for suggestions as I was about to …

Untitled

This weekend I drove a 9 hour round trip to find a waterfall I’d read about. We got there a little later than I expected and by the time we hiked over to see it, I realised we were on the wrong side of a ravine and the waterfall was impossible to get to. I’m sure there’s a way down there, and I will go back – but ended up with no real photos.
Instead, I took this on Sunday – 5 mins from my house.
